ECSEL has founded, in 2005, the first School of Biolaw in Italy, in collaboration with the European Commission “Ad Personam” Jean Monnet Chair of Biolaw and the Chair of International Protection of Human Rights and Bioethics (supported by the Italian National Bioethics Committee) of the Faculty of Economics, University “La Sapienza” of Rome.
The curricula of the School of BioLaw comprehends the following fields: Bioethics, biolaw and biopolitics; Genetics, fundamental rights and market; Globalization of bioethics; Principles and institutions of international and EU biolaw; The legal protection of biotechnological inventions; GMO, vegetable and food farming biotechnologies; Clonation and human stem cells; Biobanks; Clinical Trials, good practice and ethics committees; Genetic testing; Biometrics; Xenotransplants and animal trials; Neurosciences; Converging Technologies: nanotechnologies, ICT and robotics; Post-human and roboethics; Living will; Ethics and equity in sanitary systems; Biotechnology and finance; Bioethics, consumer protection and criminal law.
Lessons, seminars and conferences will be held in Rome. Calendar will be published on this webpage. School of BioLaw allows students to acquire formative credits given by both Council of the Bar Association of Rome and Italian Ministry of Health.
