Centre for Biojuridical Studies ECSEL®

ECSEL, a non profit organisation, is the centre for ethics and law of life sciences and new technologies, which studies and analyses the bioethical, biojuridical and biopolitical implications of innovation technologies.

ECSEL cooperates with universities, research councils, public and private firms and consortium throughout Europe. ECSEL promotes knowledge transfer from research to applications in business, industry and policy, and public engagement in the biosciences.

ECSEL boasts scientific and multidisciplinary skills in the strategic valuation of the ethical, social and legal problems derived from the setting up of the knowledge based-society and from the convergence between biotechnology, information technology, nanotechnology and cognitive science.
